The Mandrake
Inspired by the medicinal properties of the plant after which it is named, The Mandrake is a daring, unique hotel concept created by Rami Fustok, a London based entrepreneur who was born in Beirut. With the help of Interior Designer, Tala Fusok and a team of specialists they have transformed this RIBA award-winning building on Newman Street, Fitzrovia into London’s chicest hotel having opened only last September.
Fustok was educated in south London, his mother is the renowned sculptor Bushra Fakhoury and Rami’s early years were spent immersed in London’s vibrant street culture. He tells us that the hotel is his life long ambition and it certainly shows in the details.

Expect to be blown away when you enter The Mandrake due to the eclectic, vibrant interiors combined with carefully curated artwork, intriguing soundscapes from sound engineer Pierre-Arnaud Alunni and specially designed Azzi Glasser scents that further create an ambience that is intimate and intriguing at every turn. After the perfect nights sleep, I opened my eyes to a sea of green across the terrace and felt as though I was back in Bali. In reality, I am in central London. This sort of tranquility is what a hotel experience is really about, awakening the guest, immersing them.
The Mandrake is a hedonistic dream that makes you want to celebrate life. It provided an enchanting insight into the mind of Rami Fustok. We eagerly await his next venture and firmly welcome him as one of the most exciting new hoteliers on the scene.
