Summer eyewear

26.02.2017SebS

Alessandro De Lorenzo is the founder of Boudoir, an independent eyewear boutique in Venice. An optician for over twenty years, Alessandro is an eyeglass expert so who better than to give us some predictions for summer eyewear.

Alessandra believes that “understament is very cool and it is always better to look natural and effortless, I don’t like fashion brands, because I would love every individual to look different and for people to express their own style, showing their own personality. Especially men who should take that chance more often. There are obviously trends in  eyewear fashion, but the general approach in the universe of glasses is changing. In fact the world is in constant mutation and also the customers are evolving quite fast. The man who is selfconfident, knows what suits him, which colors and especially which mood.”

Summer Eyewear

Alessandro De Lorenzo founder of Boudoir, an independent eyewear boutique in Venice presents his summer selections in eyewear. An optician for over twenty years, Alessandro is an eyeglass expert. His boutique is successful because he is honest with his clients and only makes selections that work with their personality and style.
Alessandra believes that understatement is better and that you should always look natural and effortless, “I don’t like fashion brands because I would love every individual to look different and for people to express their own style, showing their own personality. Especially men who should take that chance more often. There are obviously trends in eyewear fashion but the general approach in the universe of glasses is changing. The man who is self confident, knows what suits him, which colours and especially which mood.”
For summer 2017, Alessandro advises ‘‘There is some space left for avant garde and innovation, retro looking specs are perfect for the classic type, this happens when an evergreen becomes trendy and now it is. Younger men will love wire frames from the 80s. Best selling shapes will be all the roundish ones, especially for sunglasses accompanied by mirrored lenses. I would say that strong colours are banned for the moment, which does’t mean we will see only black or tortoiseshell frames, but maybe more dark greens, a lot of gray tones, petrol and just a little bit of burgundy. In case a man needs to brighten up his face or make it more a choice of statement, I wouldn’t advise lighter colours, but just switch the material: from acetate models to metal ones, from matte finishings to polished ones, that helps a lot and keeps the look still very masculine. I also design glasses and in this moment I would focus more on the shapes rather than the colours.”
