TWO BESPOKE FRAGRANCES & A LAUNCH PARTY
What happened when Grenson, born in 1866 in Queen Street, Rushden, Northamptonshire approached their friends at Haeckels to create two bespoke fragrances aimed to create an aromatic snapshot to shares the personalities of their Queen Street factory and their Elizabeth Street Store in New York. A great adventure happened and the results are beautiful, rare and wholly natural.
QUEEN STREET: The site of the original and new Grenson factories. The creative hub of the Grenson business is the shoe making factory. This fragrance celebrates that with light herbaceous top notes reflecting the grasses and botanical plants found in the surrounding countryside, building to a more full bodied heart of brick, stone, amber and dry woods to convey the industry and heritage of the factories and deepening into base notes of leather, cork and glue, the elements needed to craft Grenson shoes.

ELIZABETH STREET: In the heart of Nolita, Grenson’s New York store. An urban scent that transports you to the varied aromas of Elizabeth Street showcasing the neighbouring florists, coffee houses, restaurants with the hero notes inspired by the store itself. Top notes showcase lime, green grasses and fragrant coriander developing into the heart with food and spice notes of coffee, chilli and cardamom. The perfume then develops into a series of modern base notes of concrete, the all important shoe leather and clean woods.
“We have always wanted to create our own scent so that we could have a signature smell when you walk into our stores. Not knowing where to start, my wife told me about Haeckels who were making gorgeous fragrances based on specific locations. So I went to Margate to meet Dom and when I walked in he was wearing an old beaten up pair of our shoes. We decided to create two fragrances, one based on our New York store and the other based on the location of our old factory.” – Tim Little
