The Volvo S90
When we heard about the S90, Volvo’s large premium saloon, and that it joins the award-winning V90 estate and XC90 SUV at the top of the Volvo range we had to take the latest member of the ‘90 series’ family for a spin.
The S90 is firmly confident in its design and luxuriousness, and its market-leadership in technology, connectivity and, of course, safety. Its stylish, elegant exterior design is perfectly complemented by an interior that combines premium, natural materials and clean Scandinavian style.

The S90 shows Volvo’s new design direction. Its elegant, striking exterior design is derived from that of Volvo’s award-winning concept car, the Volvo Concept Coupe, while the concave grille is inspired by that of the legendary Volvo P1800, best known as “The Saint’s car”, from the 1960s TV show starring Roger Moore as Simon Templar.
The interior of the S90 is designed to provide a haven of calm in true Scandinavian luxury. The intelligent, beautiful design incorporates premium, natural materials such as leather upholstery and the hand-finished wood inlays that are available on Momentum and Inscription versions. As in all Volvos, the Nappa soft leather upholstery comes from the acclaimed Bridge of Weir Leather Company in Scotland. The Drift Wood interior inlays of Inscription versions are made from ash trees and are designed to look like the distinctive weather-bleached wood found on Swedish beaches. Dark Flame Birch inlays are also available. The T8 plug-in hybrid version even gets a gear lever that includes crystal made by the Swedish glassware and art glass company Orrefors.

World-class audio is available in the form of the optional Premium Sound by Bowers & Wilkins system. The set-up benefits from the expertise of the renowned British audio equipment company and, at the touch of a button, can mirror the exact acoustics of the Gothenburg Concert Hall in Volvo’s home town, a stage environment or a recording studio.
That is what you call a luxury experience. Take a test drive and see for yourself.
