The pioneering timepiece designers have collaborated with Amsterdam based custom motorcycle builders Numbnut Motorcycles on a very special project. Working side by side, the two design leaders have created a stunning one-off timepiece and a unique custom motorcycle to tell a single story, The Son of Time.
As a testament to the need to cut loose and break the rules, The Son of Time timepiece is a bold statement that demands to be noticed.
TW Steel Chief Designer Ton Cobelens worked closely with custom motorcycle builder Roderick Seibert of Numbnut Motorcycles, the two sharing design ideas and crossing over influences to give a real synergy to the project.
Ton knew that to be taken seriously the Son of Time would need a serious movement, so turned to the spiritual home of watchmaking, Switzerland. Featuring a Swiss made mechanical tourbillon movement, the fully automatic, bi-directional timepiece has 29 jewels and a 3-day power reserve. With a 3HZ (21’ 600 A/H) frequency and a cage speed of one revolution per minute, the Son of Time has serious pedigree.
The Son of time gets finishing touches to match the mechanical beauty with luxurious ostrich leather used to hand craft the high-end watch strap. Colour accents reflect those used in the custom motorcycle, leaving no doubt the two are bonded for maximum impact.
